11 May 2026 – Lecture by Dr Paul A. Rahe at the Croatian Institute of History

On 11 May 5. 2026, Dr Paul A. Rahe of Hillsdale College in Michigan, United States of America, visited the Croatian Institute of History in an event organised by the Croatian-American Research Centre for Premodern History and the Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Croatia.
Dr Rahe delivered a lecture entitled The American Revolution: Historiographical Approaches, Contemporary Directions, and Research Methodologies. Dr Rahe is a distinguished American scholar of military and political history. His research has focused on the history of ancient Sparta and early modern political theory, and his publications include The Spartan Regime: Its Character, Origins, and Grand Strategy and Republics Ancient and Modern: Classical Republicanism and the American Revolution.
Dr Rahe’s visit attracted the attention of numerous staff members of the Croatian Institute of History and was followed by an engaging discussion on the historiography of the American Revolution and related topics.
