Markus Koller, voditelj je Katedre za povijest Osmanskog Carstva i Turske te\u00a0ravnatelj Centra za sredozemne studije Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta Ruhr Bochum u Bochumu. Ovaj\u00a0istaknuti njema\u010dki osmanist \u0107e u Zagrebu boraviti u sklopu programa povezivanja\u00a0istra\u017eiva\u010dkih skupina Zaklade Alexander von Humboldt (Humboldt-Partnerschaft)\u00a0u okviru znanstvenog projekta Regional Translocality in Historical Perspective: The\u00a0Case of Slavonia and Bosnia. Nositelji projekta su Centar za sredozemne studije Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta Ruhr Bochum, Katedra za povijest Isto\u010dne i Jugoisto\u010dne Europe Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta\u00a0u Leipzigu i Hrvatski institut za povijest &#8211; Podru\u017enica za povijest Slavonije, Srijema\u00a0i Baranje.<\/p>\n<p>Predavanje \u0107e biti na engleskom jeziku.<\/p>\n<p>Ukratko o temi<\/p>\n<p>For some years now, Ottoman studies has developed an increasing interest in the\u00a0manifold contacts of the Ottoman Empire with the world of the Indian Ocean, which\u00a0can already be observed since the 13th century. The Southeast European peninsula\u00a0was also closely involved in these economic and political connections as well as in\u00a0the military conflicts that characterised this \u201chistory of relations\u201d.
